Departure and return details
- Departing for camp. We will carpool down, but you are welcome to drive your scout and his gear to camp if you wish.
- Departing from Columbia 6/7 at 11:30 am from Grindstone Hy-Vee Parking Lot. Plan to arrive at 11:00 am to pack gear.
- Return to Columbia on 6/13 (early to mid-morning, depending on checkout time).

Parts A, B1, and B2 are completed, and an examining physician for all scouts signs Part C. Sports and other physicals can be used instead of Part C but will be accepted only if accompanied by parts A and B1, B2 of the Health Form. These need to be done ASAP and delivered to the Scoutmaster! Your scout will not be able to attend camp without a complete health form. The MU Quick Care at the Grindstone Hy-Vee provides camp physicals.

(a) Scouts will be walking a lot during the day. A second pair, in case the first pair gets wet, is a good idea.
(b) Showers are available at camp, and scouts can shower daily if they desire
(c) Scouts can sleep in the canvas wall tents provided, OR they can set up one of the troop tents. If they plan to stay in a wall tent, a cot is nice for sleeping. If they plan to sleep in a troop tent, then a sleeping pad will be used—the troop tents cannot fit cots.
(d) The trading post is open for set hours daily, and scouts can spend money there for items like juice, soda, candy, and camp souvenirs. Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation hats, T-shirts, and sweatshirts are available for purchase. We do not know the exact price, but $20-$40 will likely be sufficient for one of the items.
Other notes
- The scouts will cook most, if not all, meals. The troop will provide eating gear (plates, cups, utensils) and cooking gear (pots, pans, stoves).
- Any medicines will be held by the scoutmaster and delivered according to the schedule specified by the scout’s parent or guardian.

Contacting your scout and camp
Personal cell phones and camp
Troop policy limits the use of personal phones during campouts. If your scout brings a personal cell phone, that phone will be locked in the scoutmaster’s car. Scouts can access their phone to call their parents by asking an adult leader. The scoutmaster will be at camp all week and can be reached by call or text (515-520-0564) should you need to contact your scout.
Emergency Camp Contact
The main telephone in camp is for camp business and emergencies ONLY. The camp telephone is (573) 374-5761, and it is used for camp business and emergencies only. Telephone messages should be limited to emergencies only.
U.S. Mail Service
Outgoing mail is picked up daily from the reservation office in the Welcome Center. Please address all incoming mail as follows to assure that it is delivered to your Scout promptly.
