Select an article to brief

The article should identify a management problem (e.g., stunting reducing size structure, population declines, angler satisfaction). In the brief you will need to 1) summarize the article for a lay audience and 2) discuss the management implications for Mississippi Fisheries.

You are not limited to the journals below but they are recommended.

Once you identify an article send a pdf copy to me by the due date for full credit.

What should the brief cover?

What was the objectives of the study
What were the relevant methods and results.
What are the management implications for a Mississippi Fishery
- Specifically you need identify a problem the study may apply to
- Identify how the study and results can potential solve the problem and metrics that might be monitored to evaluate the problem

Management brief presentation

Presentation details

The presentation should be short, 5 minutes at most and aimed at an audience of stakeholders. Stakeholders in fisheries may include anglers, angler groups (e.g., BASS), and lake associations. The following rubric provides guidance on how this element will be assessed. Presentations will be held Tuesday December 4th during lab. The slides should relate to the 4 bullets above.
